Liliana Ascencio, LPC
Hello there, my name is Lily and I am a Spanish speaking Licensed Professional Counselor.
My main goal is to provide a safe, nurturing and creative-therapeutic environment. I provide a non-judgmental space, where you can feel comfortable exploring parts of yourself that might make you feel many types of emotions.
My approach is gentle, non-judgmental and exploratory. I have a warm interpersonal style, with a balance of humor, and intentional-direct feedback.
My clinical approach is mainly CBT, Humanistic, Mindfulness and Solution-Focused. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and am skilled at Relationship Building.
Experience
During my professional experiences I have worked with school aged children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families. I have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development and have worked with children on emotional difficulties, school problems and social problems including anxiety. I consider myself an inclusive and multicultural therapist that very much enjoys learning about diverse cultures, traditions, and lifestyles. In addition, I work with and am an ally for the LGBTQ+ community.
Thank you for taking the first step to feeling better and improving your mental health. It is never easy to admit that there is something happening in your life that makes you feel vulnerable, afraid, angry or anxious. I strongly believe that one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. I value building a genuine and therapeutic relationship with my clients, which means I will individualize therapy so that it can be the most meaningful for you. Taking the first step to seek help is challenging! Giving yourself the opportunity to heal is something to be so proud of. It is a sign of strength and self-love; congratulations on this life-changing decision. I am already so proud of you.
