Feelings of anxiety, anger, and sadness impact everyone on some level whether it be relationship difficulties, parenting struggles, work stress, or just life in general. Sometimes emotional struggles become overwhelming and impact our daily lives and take away joy from the moments that matter. Acknowledging that those struggles are real can be intimidating and scary. Talking to an unfamiliar person about them is even more difficult. However, engaging in therapy and processing the issues holding you back can give you back your joy and purpose.

Individual therapy and diagnostic psychological evaluations are my primary areas of focus and I have over 20 years of experience serving in this capacity. I have treated individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance abuse, and personality disorders. Throughout my education, training, and experience I have served a variety of populations ranging from young children to adult seniors.

Background and Approach

I have worked with children and adolescents in foster care settings, and adults in community mental health, inpatient hospital settings, as well as assisted living facilities. I have also spent time doing psychological testing, evaluations for individuals seeking disability assistance, and fitness for duty evaluations. I have also conducted psychological testing with children and adults to aid in diagnostic clarification and to assist in treatment planning, as well as, educational programming and services.

My therapy style begins with rapport building from a client-centered approach using active listening and compassion because I understand how difficult it is to open up to a professional. We will discuss your goals for therapy and what you would like to achieve. I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral approach with Dialectical Behavioral techniques to increase you coping skills, interpersonal skills and mindfulness to help you achieve those goals. However, this will all be at your pace and comfort level. Together we can work to help you overcome your obstacles and achieve a life of balance.

Congratulations on taking your first step and I look forward to working with you!
